Textiles encompass a wide range of creative possibilities – from designing colorful prints for fashion to designing woven cloth for interiors, working with regional businesses who use or want to use sustainable methods, and making sculptural work for exhibition.

The current focus of the Textiles program reflects the future needs of the textile industry: using our creativity and insight to the critical issues of today-working to ensure the environmental safety and social well-being of our communities. Whether designing for major international corporations or small local farms, sustainable textile practices are the future. As one of the only textiles programs to recognize and embrace sustainable solutions, Textiles in CVPA be at the forefront of positive change.

This blog is the research journal of AXD 393 Sustainable Textiles. We will be posting the results of four research projects over the course of the Spring 2019 semester.
